Elan Gibb was a 2015 TEEP participant and graduated from IBMBA program of NSYSU in June 2016. Two months later, he got hired by Everest Co., a local Taiwanese publicly listed textfile company to do global sales. The following reflection was received from him.
“The TEEP program was in my opinion by far one of the most useful and worthwhile programs that I took part in while I was enrolled at NSYSU. The best part about this program is that it gives students a chance to actually participate with established Taiwanese companies on various projects. One of the major drawbacks of most schools in general, is the lack of bridging the gap between academics and real world practical learning, which is why everybody should join this program, because it does exactly that.”
“In addition, especially for foreigners, this is probably the only chance you will get to see what a Taiwanese company is like in terms of both business and culture before you find a job here. If you are planning on staying in Taiwan longer term, this is a good way to get an idea of how Taiwanese companies operate, and then later decide whether you want to stay here to work after graduation. If you do decide to stay here to work, this program also puts you in a good position because you will meet a lot of people at different levels and across multiple industries. To sum everything up, if you plan on staying in Taiwan longer term, there is nothing I would personally recommend more than participating in the TEEP program. “
