What is 2018 TEEP@India?

TEEP@India : Southern Taiwan Software Industry Development Program is a team internship opportunity for international youth talents from India who are specifically interested in seeking their future career development in economically booming Asia area. With the trend of global internship, we would like to strengthen international communication with India, one of the most promising countries in the world. Thus, Indian students in their master or undergraduate programs are both welcome to apply for this Program.

TEEP denotes “Taiwan Experience Education Program”, initiated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan government in 2015 and aims at attracting international youths to come to experience life, culture, learning, and language in Taiwan. For the successive three years (2015-2017), National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), located in Kaohsiung City of Southern Taiwan, gained the funding from MOE to conduct TEEP/ICPT (International Consulting Program in Taiwan).

With abundant experience accumulated in conducting international youth consulting & internship program, this coming year NSYSU TEEP Center launches a new project “TEEP@Inida: Southern Taiwan Software Industry Development Program” to continue the international communication and recruit Indian youth talents to experience professional learning in the fields of software industry, smart machinery and engineering industry in Southern Taiwan.

There are a lot of enterprises engaged in production and manufacturing of high quality aerospace parts, machine tools, and precision components in Southern Taiwan area. In order to pursue further growth, these enterprises need to strengthen international links and to raise global visibility in related fields. This Program is well designed to help facilitate Indian youths’ professional learning on the one hand, and help Taiwanese enterprises to gain more internationalized experience and talents on the other. Accordingly, the opportunity for some participants to be recruited as a full time employee by Taiwanese enterprises after the program can be expected.

What activities 2018 TEEP@India includes?

We design a 8-week software industry development program. A team of 5 participants from India with diverse expertise and business experience will be organized and dedicated to conduct a specific project. The team is aimed at tackling with the challenges facing the local Taiwanese enterprises from software industry, smart machinery and engineering industry in Southern Taiwan. and finally providing some executable recommendations.

Each team will be assigned an advisor, who is a senior practitioner in software or machinery industry with much business experience and connections in their career. The advisor will guide the team by accompanying them to visit the client (local enterprises) each week and conducting regular meetings to provide the team valuable comments and suggestions.

Local enterprises will be also invited to participate and cooperate with the program. While offering this precious opportunity for team members to practice and sharpen problem solving skills as well as to get comprehensive understanding of business culture in Taiwan, local clients really expect that team members are able to offer innovative and practical recommendations and solutions related to their current challenges. Therefore, the mission of all participants is to do their best to provide a solution for clients within the program conducting period.

Visiting to the client every week is required for each team to find out more relevant data and facts, to identify and discuss potential issues, to report their current findings, and to further consolidate the progress of the project. Midterm presentation is arranged to check the project progress and each team has to present before clients, advisors, and representatives invited from academic and industry sector. Final presentation is the time to demonstrate what the team has done to conclude this program in a professional manner.

What training will be provided?

While participants possess diverse academic and industry backgrounds, we strongly believe that some advanced skills are still required for participants to gain better performance and accumulate experiences. Prior to the beginning of the program, each participant is requested to team up with his (her) own team members and several assignments are already on their way to stimulate the team’s coordination and cooperation.

What other events applicants will experience?

To allow all participants to experience Taiwanese culture, we will organize at least two cultural trips for them to be engaged during the program conducting period. Furthermore, language classes are also provided to improve participants’ communication ability in Chinese.
